Sport & Recreation Show | 102.3 BOB FM

One can expect football, soccer, hockey and lacrosse at the Sport & Recreation Show on Feb 23 & 24, but junior combat Jiu-Jitsu, basketball with the London Lightning, cheerleading and fencing will give families exposure to a multitude of sport options available for youth.

In its third year running, and always a big draw, local Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) company Adrenaline will host the 32 Man Grappling Tournament starting Sunday, Feb 24, at 11am.? Jiu-Jitsu isn?t just for adults ? youth as young as five years old will compete in the Junior Combat Classic, new to the show this year. With over 50 youth divisions aged 5 ? 17 years, ranging from beginner to advanced, the competition will be exciting to watch, full of intense ground-fighting and is free with your admission.

If MMA is not your style, the high-energy acrobatics of the London Heat Cheerleaders might peak your families interests.? This competitive squad, which competes all over North America, will be demonstrating their teamwork, athleticism, and pep on stage both days of the show.? Another unique sport, Western University?s fencing team, will also demonstrate their agility giving showgoers an opportunity to learn and practice how to ?en garde?, lunge and parry.

If you are more interested in playing than watching, the London Lightning is offering the unique opportunity to shoot hoops with the pros!? Share the court with 6-foot ballers, and see how your dribbling, shooting and blocking skills measure up to the pros.?

Check out these activities, and more, at the Sport & Recreation Show, Western Fair District.
